St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School is committed to addressing sustainability in all aspects of school life. In order for students to succeed in a complex and changing world, the focus is on helping students to understand how and why the natural world is changing and the human role in those changes. Sustainability is woven throughout our school’s mission statement and JK-12 curriculum.
SSSAS inspires a passion for learning about the local, regional, and global environment and a striving for excellence in the very important and interdisciplinary study that is sustainability. SSSAS prepares each student to play a meaningful and effective role as a steward of the natural world and human society. SSSAS seeks to inspire a celebration of the diversity of all ecosystems and the life therein and a commitment to service to our fellow humans and the environment on which we all depend.
To assist with our school’s sustainability objectives, we have established the SSSAS Environmental Sustainability Committee. The committee is represented by faculty, administrators, and staff from all three campuses, as well as student representatives, who work closely to achieve our sustainability goals.
