Our Philosophy

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School is proud to belong to two regionally competitive athletic conferences. The boys compete in the Interstate Athletic Conference (I.A.C.) and the girls in the Independent School League (I.S.L.). Both leagues are strong and balanced, and offer the opportunity to compete against other schools that are similar in size as well as in athletic and academic philosophy. Our goal is to encourage teamwork, commitment, self-discipline, perseverance, and leadership. The St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School athletics program is grounded in the ability of our student-athletes to win and lose with grace and display sportsmanship at every competition.

Middle School
In this interscholastic program, students choose to participate in one sport each season (fall, winter, spring), and each student participates in athletics every day. Playing time is based on effort, skill level, and attitude. In each sport, a student is challenged to improve his or her ability regardless of level of play.

The goals of the program are the development of skills, team play, good sportsmanship, and exposure to sports that offer lifelong enjoyment. Sports offered at the Middle School level include baseball, basketball, cross country, field hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling.
