Association of Parents and Teachers The Association of Parents and Teachers (APT) sponsors a wide variety of campus-wide events throughout the school year that are traditions at SSSAS. Here are just a few of some of our most popular:
- Fall Family Festival at Homecoming: Staged in conjunction with the annual Homecoming weekend at the Upper School, this event has activities for all ages, including great food, entertainment, and games.
- Annual Gala and Auction: The Annual Gala and Auction is an entertaining, festive evening gathering, featuring live and silent auctions to help raise vital funds for our school.
- All Night Party: Parents of members of the junior class help plan and execute the "after party" for the prom, providing a secure environment for students to celebrate.
- Spring Festival: This family fun event at the Lower School features games, moon bounces, tug-of-war competitions, dinner, and opportunities to connect with families within the SSSAS community.
The APT also organizes several school-wide committees that work with school representatives to target community service, environmental concerns, diversity, and campus life initiatives.
- Community Service and Service Learning Committee: This committee organizes events that help our children understand the benefits and rewards of helping others. Community service projects have included responding to the needs of the homeless, the hungry, and the disadvantaged. Activities take place both in school and off campus in the local community.
- Diversity and Multicultural Committee: This school-wide group partners with the SSSAS Multicultural Issues Steering Committee to address how our school can inspire a celebration of diversity and value each child as a unique child of God. Activities focus on events that celebrate our diverse cultures and opportunities to learn about and better understand our complex world. This includes multicultural celebrations on each campus, potluck dinners, book and movie discussion groups, and speakers.
- Steve & Aggie's Café and Athletic Concession: Located near the Upper School gymnasium, Steve & Aggie's provides great food to Middle and Upper School students participating in sports or other after-school activities. It also is open in the evenings and on weekends when sporting events are scheduled.
- Sustainability Committee: This committee supports the faculty and administration in its efforts to make our school more sustainable and our APT events "greener." Another focus is raising environmental awareness within our Saints community through activities and materials that demonstrate the benefits of a greener lifestyle.

In addition to sponsoring six major events at the school, the role of the Fathers' Club is to help ensure that students from all three divisions have the best facilities and equipment available.
- All-Sports Kick-Off Dinner: This is an evening of food and fun for all families to celebrate the kick-off of a new school year and the fall athletic season.
- World Famous Pancake Supper: Saints families enjoy breakfast for dinner at this September event, which has become a popular tradition at the Lower School.
- Annual Saints Girls Invitational Basketball Tournament: This tournament kicks off the basketball season every year for our own varsity girls team as they take on other area schools in a two-day competition in December.
- Holiday Classic Wrestling Tournament: At more than 30 years old, this annual sports tradition is one of the longest-running wrestling tournaments in the Washington, D.C. area. Saints wrestlers compete against seven other area schools.
- Annual Sleepy Thompson Boys Basketball Tournament: The whole school exudes school spirit the week of this event as SSSAS gears up for the second oldest and one of the most prestigious basketball tournaments in the Washington, D.C. area.
- Spring Fling Girls Lacrosse Tournament: Spring Fling is an event for the whole family, filled with fun, food, and skilled athletes playing full-length scrimmages and games on all three fields. Each year this tournament showcases top national and local teams.

The Performing Arts Boosters are parents who actively support the performing arts at SSSAS. They help with activities on all three campuses related to the orchestra, jazz band, choral, and drama departments. One of this group’s most popular efforts is the annual White House Christmas ornament sale. |
