Middle School

Middle School students having fun learning science

We’ve designed our Middle School curriculum specifically to foster the intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual growth of students in sixth through eighth grade.

Through a careful balance of time-tested instruction and innovative experiential learning, your child develops the expertise, resilience, and self-awareness to define and attain their own aspirations—and to make a real difference in the world around them.

A Day in Life in Middle School

There is always someone there for you. It could be a teacher, a counselor, or even someone you've never talked to before. In the Saints middle school community no one is ever alone, and we can count on each other when hard times come, whether you are struggling with a concept in math or having friend problems.

Middle School Signature Programs

SAINTS Skills equips every sixth grader with the tools to excel in Middle School, Upper School, college, and beyond.

The course teaches organization, listening, studying, test taking, and other executive functioning skills that last a lifetime. The class also focuses on how students’ brains work, how they work with each other, and how they work with people outside of their walls.

The Middle School Babyak Library

MS Babyak Library

The Babyak Library is a hub of student activity at the Middle School. The library program fosters intellectual curiosity, cultivates a love of reading, and promotes lifelong learning. The librarian works in collaboration with classroom teachers to help students develop their capacity to locate, evaluate, and apply information. Library collections support academic and individual interests. We create community through hosting special events and programming, including author visits, book clubs, LEGO builds, tabletop gaming, and maker activities.

Middle School Core Curriculum

We view the always exciting, occasionally challenging middle school years as an extraordinary opportunity for intellectual growth, new friendships, burgeoning identity, and, yes, joy. Here, joy comes from and empowers deep engagement in learning and in the wider world. As a middle schooler, you'll continue to grow and learn, building meaningful academic and life skills, and a lifelong passion to think, wonder, discover, and act—ensuring you’re fully ready and energized for our intensive Upper School.

Meet Our Students

Middle school students from each grade share what they enjoy about their school and their experience at St. Stephen's and St. Agnes Middle School.

Spending time in a fun environment while getting to know your classmates on a deeper level is an experience I will never forget. Activities such as kayaking with friends and doing bonding exercises helped me connect with my peers in a special way. The people I have met during my past two bonding trips at the middle school are some of my closest friends, and the memories made there are some of my fondest.

Enrichment and Extended Day

Joy actually expands our capacity to learn, create, and connect with one another. In our middle school, this is the essence of seeking goodness as well as knowledge. Protecting the spark of joy ensures that our students and colleagues grow not only smarter but also kinder, more prepared, and more fully human.
