Saints win the Fibonacci Division of the Junior Math League and the Alexandria and Arlington Division of the Virginia Math League.
For students who have a passion for math, St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School offers many challenging opportunities in and outside the classroom. One opportunity is to compete in various competitions throughout the year, such as the Junior Math League and the Virginia Math League.
Our team of Advanced Algebra 2/Trigonometry Honors and Geometry Honors students won the Fibonacci Division of the Junior Math League that is sponsored by the Northern Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The students participated in five contests over the course of the school year.
Students placing in the 2019-2020 Junior Math League competition are: First Place Tie: Freshman Carter Harris and Sophomore Finn Jensen Third place: Sophomore Ellie Hanley
In addition to placing first in the Junior Math League, our Varsity Division (a team of Advanced Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus students) finished first in the Alexandria and Arlington Division of the Virginia Math League. The students participated in five contests over the course of the school year.
