Middle School Application Process

List of 5 items.

  • 1. Schedule a Campus Visit

The best way for you and your child to select a school is to see it firsthand; for this reason, campus tours are a required step in the process.

From October through February, individual family tours are offered for students and their parents. Each tour is immediately followed by a separate interview with the student, and then with the parent(s), by an admission director. This visit is an opportunity for parents and students to ask questions about the school and the admission process.

Additionally, the Middle School offers an Open House for prospective students and parents on the first Tuesday in November. This event offers group tours, an informational session led by some of our faculty, and an interactive classroom for visiting students. REGISTER NOW!
  • 2. Apply to SSSAS Online!

Apply online! When you begin the application, you will be asked to create an account with our online form system.

Please submit your completed application and the fee by January 16, 2018. After this date, call the Admission Office for more information. If you are testing with SSAT and wish to use their Standard Application, we will accept that form in lieu of our application.

  • 3. Schedule and Submit Testing

In the Middle and Upper School admission process, prospective students have the option of taking SSAT (preferred assessment) or the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) for standardized testing results.

Applicants must register directly with SSAT or ISEE or in order to attend any of the testing sessions.

Both tests include assessment in verbal and quantitative ability, reading comprehension, and writing. Students may take either test, in order to accommodate applicants who are applying to more than one school. Test scores are mailed directly to the applicant and schools designated to receive them. Various dates and test sites are offered for both tests. Registration may be completed online through the SSAT and ISEE websites. Applicants must register directly with SSAT or ISEE in order to attend any testing sessions.

St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School is a test site for the both the SSAT and the ISEE. At our school, the SSAT is administered on a Saturday in early November and on a Saturday in early January. The ISEE is administerd on a Saturday in mid-January. Both tests will be administered at the Upper School campus. Applicants must register through SSAT or ISEE to attend either of these sessions.
School codes to have results reported to St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School are listed below.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School is one of the DC area schools using a web-based application called OnBoard for the submission of online forms. Through OnBoard, you will be able to manage your application process online and complete supplemental forms such as teacher evaluations and student applicant questionnaires. You will also be able to print the Parent Request for Release of Records form and submit it to your child’s school guidance counselor, principal, or director, requesting the release of school records.
