Myles: Tenth Grade

Meet Myles

List of 8 items.

  • What are your favorite subjects?

Math and science, mainly because I have always liked these subjects
since elementary school, and my future profession of being a geologist requires being an expert in these subjects. I also enjoy advanced wind ensemble.
  • What was one of your favorite assignments?

The sting art assignment in geometry required us to connect a bunch of straight lines on a perpendicular to make any shape or perpendicular segments that end up making a curve. This was my favorite assignment because it allowed me to show my creativity. Knowing that the possibilities were endless on a project like this made it exciting.
  • What life skills have you learned at SSSAS ?

The values of hard work, time management, and discipline.
  • Which club have you especially enjoyed?

I joined the Environmental Club because even though I love geological science, another interest I have is environmental science and biology. From participating in this club, I have learned how our school works to be more "green" and sustainable so we can help tackle the environmental issues on our planet.
  • Who has inspired you at school?

My teachers and coaches have taught me that I shouldn’t be afraid to give 110% in everything I do. They've helped me learn that trying (and sometimes making mistakes) is the only way to become better.
  • What lessons do you learn through athletics?

I have learned that you can’t play any sport well without confidence and the correct motivation and mindset. In athletics, everything is accomplished through the team as a whole, and nothing is done through an individual effort.
  • How has music become part of your life?

I pursued music in the seventh grade by playing in the Middle School band, and I have been playing ever since. The clarinet has become more than an instrument; it's a way for me to relax and express myself.
  • What makes SSSAS special?

SSSAS has a special ability to maintain academics, athletics, a moral mission under God, and a spirit of acceptance. These things make this school memorable to all students who have ever enrolled at SSSAS because of the sense of community that is represented here.
