Welcome to the APT!

WHO WE ARE
The APT exists to support and enhance the school community through a strong and responsive parent/teacher structure. It’s comprised of all parents/guardians of enrolled students, teachers, administrators, and school staff. The head of school represents our teachers and staff and is a voting member of the APT Executive Board.

HOW YOU CAN VOLUNTEER
There are many opportunities for parents to volunteer and get involved — from helping support a specific event or taking a shift with Steve & Aggies to serving on a committee or joining our Board. Your time and talents would be greatly appreciated! Vounteering is a wonderful way to support our students, faculty, and staff, as well as meet other Saints in the community.

WHAT WE DO
We invite you to explore our many programs and events, including our Shopping Program and Market Weeks, the Fall Family Festival, Evening with the Teachers, Spring Festival, and our exciting fundraiser, the Annual Gala and Live Auction. The APT organizes a Welcome Pot Luck and promotes class-level parent socials in the weekly APT section of the SSSAS Dispatch. Every other year we offer a Speaker Series.

HOW WE DO IT
We couldn't offer all we do without the volunteer support of parents, faculty, and staff, and the financial sponsorship of our families. We ask all families to voluntarily pay APT dues of $50. To see how the funds are used to support our teachers and students, read last year's APT Allocations Report.

The APT Allocations

It has been an exciting year to be a part of the APT. Because of your generosity and kindness, the APT was able to fund 100 percent of the requests submitted by our wonderful SSSAS leaders and staff from the Upper, Middle, and Lower Schools, including over $80,000 to the APT Holden Summer Fellowships and scholarship funds. This year, in addition to providing the opportunity for another Author Program, we were proud to support the first All-School Read and Innovation Celebration!

In addition to these awesome contributions, because of your support, we were also able to provide many other gifts to the school, including, hardware and software for a new technology education course at the Upper School; 12 document cameras for the Middle and Lower Schools; Adobe Photoshop licenses; math manipulative games; Dash and Dot Robots; Kibo engineering coding robots sets for the Lower School; “Standard Chinese” books for Upper School students; and books for Lower School teachers to teach independence in writing. We were able to provide continued assistance with the revised JK Math Curriculum; a continued subscription to Music First Software Program used extensively in performing/music theory classes; Adirondack chairs to create student gathering areas on our campuses;a shade sail for Middle School outdoor space to create a learning environment for students; two portable basketball hoops for the Lower School to assist students in shooting drills; the construction of a musical wall; life-size outdoor Lincoln Timber logs for Lower School students; an extension of our outdoor number line at the Lower School; and new nurse resource materials to develop and support written policies and procedures for student health, wellness, and safety.
