Approximate Bus Route Starting Locations

The St. Stephen's and St. Agnes commuter bus service picks students up from specific locations in their communities. Shown are approximate locations where bus routes have originated. If a student registers for bus transportation, we will work to create a centralized stop within a couple of miles of their home.

Commuter Routes

SSSAS provides commuter service for families living in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Commuter routes service centralized pickup and drop off points dependent on the geography of ridership. On occasion we are able to provide a door pickup or drop off.

Currently, SSSAS provides nine different commuter routes.

  • Ridership varies by route and location.
  • On average there are 15-20 students per route.
  • Routes service students in grades K-12.
  • There are mixed ages on the commuter routes.
  • Routes are developed in August after registration takes place in July. Families learn of their pickup and drop off time, location and bus number in early August via email.

All SSSAS bus drivers are full-time employees and members of our community. The average tenure of service of our SSSAS drivers is 10 years!

Yearly VDOT physicals and biweekly trainings ensure our drivers are constantly reviewing best practices and safe driving measures.

SSSAS bus drivers carry CDL licenses and are CPR and first aid trained. They carry clean driving records.
