“Arsenic and Old Lace,” by American playwright Joseph Kesselring
“Arsenic and Old Lace” is a farcical, dark comedy centered around the odd and homicidal Brewster family. The hero, Mortimer Brewster, is a sane drama critic who has to navigate between his crazy family and the local police. His two kind-hearted spinster aunts have taken to helping lonely old men in a most peculiar manner. One of his brothers believes he is a famous president, while the other brother underwent plastic surgery to conceal his identity…but why? In the midst of everything, poor Mortimer is trying to decide if he can possibly go through with marrying the girl next door, Elaine, who is the daughter of the local minister. Will he or won’t he? Why are the police interested in his family members? Join us to find out!
“Cinderella” by Richard Rodgers (music) and Oscar Hammerstein II (book and lyrics) based upon the fairy tale “Cinderella” by Charles Perrault
Don’t miss this timeless and enchanting version of the magical fairy tale. Cinderella, is a sweet and beautiful young lady living as a servant to her cruel stepmother and egotistical stepsisters. Bring the whole family to follow her story of “dreams do come true,” as her fairy godmother transforms her into a princess for the ball where she meets her prince. Swept away as she dances in his arms, she is aware her time with him is short. As the clock approaches midnight, she knows she will transform back into her rags and flees, losing one glass slipper. The prince is determined to find the foot that fits the slipper and be reunited with his beautiful, mysterious princess and live in the kingdom of happily ever after.
