The entire St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School student and faculty community gathered (some together, some virtually) November 23 for the annual Thanksgiving Service in Goodwin Gymnasium at the Upper School.
To begin the service, the seniors processed hand-in-hand with the kindergarten students; a special time for our oldest students to bond with the youngest. A highlight of the annual event is when the seniors give the kindergarten students a “guardian angel” pin to wish them well in their years ahead at SSSAS. The service featured scripture lessons, hymns, and prayers, as well as beautiful music from the SSSAS Symphony Orchestra, Upper School Concert Choir, Sextet, Faculty Choir, Gospel Voices, Fifth Grade Choir, and Middle School Chorus.
Students and faculty brought items for our annual food drive, and Head of School Kirsten Adams delivered the homily, encouraging our community to be mindful of the present and thankful for one another. In another moment that brings the entire community together, each grade level and the faculty contribute words of thanks and read them aloud in an all-school Thanksgiving prayer:
Let us give thanks to God for all of the gifts so lovingly given us, saying, We thank you, Lord:
