Welcome New Administrators

Dear Parents,

Hiring season is nearing a close, and we are thrilled with the new faculty and staff who will be joining our Saints family for the 2016-2017 school year. The division directors will be sharing information about our new teachers during our back-to-school letters, and I would like to take a moment to introduce our new administrators. After extensive national searches with strong pools for each position, we look forward to welcoming each of these new members to our community.

Josh Bauman - Associate Director of Middle School
Josh Bauman is a familiar face in the Middle School, having served as a Spanish Teacher and Coach at SSSAS for eleven years, four of them as the Eighth Grade Dean. A respected and creative educator, Mr. Bauman brings outstanding leadership skills as he steps into this important position. He recently earned a Master of Science degree in Educational Studies with a graduate certificate in Educational Leadership for Independent Schools from Johns Hopkins University. He has served on several school leadership committees, including the Professional Growth Committee. We are delighted to have Mr. Bauman and his wife, Pauline, Middle School Math Teacher, as valued members of our school.

Jen Desautels - Director of Communications
Jen Desautels will further strengthen her ties to SSSAS as our new Director of Communications. She and her husband, Greg, are parents to Saints Elliot '25 and Charlie '26. Mrs. Desautels currently serves as Director of Communications at Episcopal High School and brings many years of experience in both communications and admissions from several local independent schools. She has a strong background in both digital and print media, as well as branding and marketing. We look forward to Mrs. Desautels leading our communications team and furthering our advancement initiatives.

Mike Mallett - Director of Upper School
Mike Mallett joins us after 16 years at Worcester Academy in Massachusetts. Mr. Mallett served for 12 years in the Upper School before becoming Head of the Middle School in 2012. He brings a wealth of experience in curriculum design, professional development, and diversity initiatives. He is an award-winning educator who has led innovative programs both at his school and in the larger community. We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Mallett, his wife, Marcia, and his two children, Max and Maya, to the Saints community. You may read the previous announcement here.

Jeff Walrich - Athletic Director for Boys
Jeff Walrich comes to SSSAS from Gilmour Academy in Ohio, where he has served as Athletic Director since 2012, overseeing 24 varsity teams and more than 50 teams school-wide. He brings more than 20 years of experience in coaching at a high level, athletic administration, and teaching, with an emphasis on sportsmanship and developing strong relationships. Mr. Walrich is a Certified Athletic Administrator, previously serving at The Westminster Schools and Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School in Georgia.
